Job Responsibilities:

  • Employ a structured problem-solving approach to identify and implement lasting solutions for manufacturing challenges.
  • Oversee OEE Metrics for Yield and Downtime, ensuring critical downtime events are communicated, escalated, and resolved appropriately.
  • Facilitate equipment and product changeovers, continuously improving to reduce changeover times using SMED principles.
  • Conduct and enhance preventative maintenance to optimize equipment performance.
  • Manage spare parts inventory to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Design and improve jigs and fixtures to meet manufacturing requirements and enhance existing processes.
  • Adhere to safety protocols, ensuring personal and team health and safety, and reporting hazards to management promptly.
  • Collaborate with the production team to prioritize daily and weekly actions effectively.
  • Understand and mitigate the impact of maintenance on the energy performance of significant energy-using equipment.
  • Recognize and address potential safety risks associated with equipment maintenance.
  • Comply with Plant Safety and Health & Safety requirements, taking responsibility for the aspects of the OH&S System under your control.
  • Be mindful of the environmental impact of your work and the consequences of non-compliance.
  • Contribute to energy conservation and enhanced energy performance.
  • Participate in the continual improvement of OH&S, Environmental, and Energy Management systems by providing feedback, reporting incidents, and suggesting improvements.
  • Train production operators in the correct use of process equipment and adherence to product specifications.

Qualifications:

  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong communication skills.
  • Adaptable and flexible, capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Positive and enthusiastic approach to interpersonal interactions.
  • Hands-on experience in diagnosing and resolving manufacturing issues.
  • Systematic troubleshooting and technical problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Outlook, Word, Excel.
  • Previous trade experience (e.g., Toolmaker, Fitter, Electrician, Mechanic) or NFQ Level 6 qualification in a technical field (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Mechatronics, or Electrical).
  • Certification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Lean Six Sigma is highly desirable.
  • Experience with Grinding, Moulding, EDM, and/or Laser processes is a distinct advantage.
