Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a high-performing engineering team to achieve site objectives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with production, quality, and R&D teams to design and implement sustainable manufacturing processes.

  • Provide hands-on technical expertise in troubleshooting, maintaining, and improving automated equipment.

  • Conduct and document detailed engineering studies and process evaluations to support data-driven decision-making.

  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions (RCCA) initiatives to drive continuous improvement.

  • Develop and deliver technical training for staff on topics such as electromechanical systems, PLCs, schematics, servos, and pneumatics.

  • Champion key projects, creating comprehensive project scopes, budgets, timelines, and ROI forecasts.

  • Design and quote new automation systems, services, and equipment, including user requirement specifications and validation documentation.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with automation suppliers and internal customers to ensure collaborative success.

  • Continuously assess and optimise plant equipment and processes to maintain best-in-class operational performance.

  • Support a Lean Manufacturing culture by promoting efficient systems, waste reduction, and continuous improvement methodologies.

  • Research emerging technologies and innovations to enhance automation capability and plant competitiveness.

  • Ensure consistent and reliable documentation, performance reviews, and regulatory compliance across engineering operations.

Education & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related scientific field (required)

  • Master’s Degree in Engineering or Science (preferred)

  • Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification (preferred)

Experience Required

  • Minimum of 5–8 years’ engineering experience in a manufacturing environment

  • At least 2 years’ supervisory or management experience

  • Strong background in automation, with experience using CAD and SAP systems highly desirable

Skills & Competencies

  • Expert knowledge of manufacturing processes, workflows, and industrial automation

  • Proven ability in technical problem-solving and leading continuous improvement initiatives

  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills

  • Demonstrated commitment to customer service excellence and quality standards

Other Details

  • Travel Requirements: Up to 10% annually (approx. 26 business days)

  • Work Environment: Sedentary – occasional lifting up to 10lbs/4kgs

  • Must exhibit reliable, punctual, and consistent attendance
