Key Responsibilities
Lead and mentor a high-performing engineering team to achieve site objectives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Collaborate cross-functionally with production, quality, and R&D teams to design and implement sustainable manufacturing processes.
Provide hands-on technical expertise in troubleshooting, maintaining, and improving automated equipment.
Conduct and document detailed engineering studies and process evaluations to support data-driven decision-making.
Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions (RCCA) initiatives to drive continuous improvement.
Develop and deliver technical training for staff on topics such as electromechanical systems, PLCs, schematics, servos, and pneumatics.
Champion key projects, creating comprehensive project scopes, budgets, timelines, and ROI forecasts.
Design and quote new automation systems, services, and equipment, including user requirement specifications and validation documentation.
Build and maintain strong relationships with automation suppliers and internal customers to ensure collaborative success.
Continuously assess and optimise plant equipment and processes to maintain best-in-class operational performance.
Support a Lean Manufacturing culture by promoting efficient systems, waste reduction, and continuous improvement methodologies.
Research emerging technologies and innovations to enhance automation capability and plant competitiveness.
Ensure consistent and reliable documentation, performance reviews, and regulatory compliance across engineering operations.
Education & Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related scientific field (required)
Master’s Degree in Engineering or Science (preferred)
Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification (preferred)
Experience Required
Minimum of 5–8 years’ engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
At least 2 years’ supervisory or management experience
Strong background in automation, with experience using CAD and SAP systems highly desirable
Skills & Competencies
Expert knowledge of manufacturing processes, workflows, and industrial automation
Proven ability in technical problem-solving and leading continuous improvement initiatives
Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills
Demonstrated commitment to customer service excellence and quality standards
Other Details
Travel Requirements: Up to 10% annually (approx. 26 business days)
Work Environment: Sedentary – occasional lifting up to 10lbs/4kgs
Must exhibit reliable, punctual, and consistent attendance
