Purpose Statement
Leads a dynamic team of engineers and technicians in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with a strong focus on automation, digital transformation, and operational excellence. Provides technical and people leadership to deliver on key business metrics, drive innovation in automation systems, and build team capability for sustained long-term success.

Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Team Development - Provides guidance, coaching, and structured development opportunities to staff; fosters a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. - Recruits, retains, and develops top talent with a strong focus on automation and digital skillsets. - Motivates individuals and teams to achieve ambitious goals in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
- Strategic & Technical Execution - Partners with senior management to establish departmental goals, budgets, and resource plans aligned to business priorities. - Leads and supports manufacturing engineering projects with a focus on automation, smart manufacturing, and process optimization. - Prioritizes and manages multiple projects to ensure timely, high-quality delivery of results.
- Automation & Innovation - Champions the adoption of advanced automation technologies (PLC, SCADA, robotics, IIoT, Industry 4.0) to improve efficiency, safety, and quality. - Collaborates cross-functionally to implement automation solutions, resolve complex technical issues, and enable digital manufacturing capabilities. - Partners with vendors and external stakeholders to assess and deploy new automation technologies.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration - Represents Manufacturing Engineering on cross-functional teams, including new product development and strategic initiatives. - Builds and strengthens collaborative relationships with operations, quality, IT/OT, and global engineering groups.
- Compliance & Standards - Ensures policies, procedures, and quality system requirements are adhered to at all times. - Promotes a safe and compliant work environment aligned to EHS and Energy policies.
- Hons BSc degree in an Engineering/Science discipline required.
- 5+ years relevant experience.
- Previous experience in automation highly desired.
- Experience within Manufacturing environment is essential, Med Device/Pharma would be advantageous but not required.
- Previous People Supervision experience is required
