Principal Manufacturing Engineer 
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Principal Manufacturing Engineer to join a leading medical device manufacturer in Clonmel. This is a senior technical role, providing support to manufacturing operations, driving process optimisation, and ensuring production targets are consistently met. You will also play a key role in introducing new products and processes, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership to manufacturing operations, ensuring efficiency, quality, and compliance.
  • Monitor equipment and processes, resolving issues related to non-conformance, yield, or quality.
  • Partner with R&D and other departments to integrate new products and processes into existing operations.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team through training, mentoring, and performance management.
  • Contribute to the development of operational policies and procedures, ensuring regulatory compliance (FDA, BSI, EHS, etc.).
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimise resources and enhance productivity.
  • Support budget planning and cost control through regular analysis of spending and resource allocation.
  • Oversee and participate in validation activities, from protocol development to execution.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Level 7 qualification (or higher) in a relevant discipline with 6+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering or a related field.
  • Strong technical expertise with proven experience in process optimisation and problem-solving.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability, with experience managing and developing technical teams.
  • Excellent organisational, planning, and decision-making skills.
  • Knowledge of working within a regulated manufacturing environment, with a strong focus on compliance and quality systems.
