Overview
We are seeking a Senior Product Development Engineer to join a high-performing team focused on cutting-edge medical device development. This role offers the opportunity to lead and support multidisciplinary engineering projects, working across the full product development lifecycle—from concept to launch—within a collaborative, innovation-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
As a Senior PD Engineer, you will:
- Play a hands-on role in new product development, including design, technology advancement, automation, vendor engagement, and project execution.
- Apply Design, Reliability & Manufacturability (DRM) methodologies and 3D modeling to develop advanced technologies, equipment, and scalable manufacturing processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet technical and commercial milestones in product development.
- Support and lead technology innovation initiatives, with a strong focus on quality, rigor, and automation (both semi- and fully-automated systems).
- Contribute to process development, characterization, and validation activities to ensure robust product introduction.
- Utilize tools such as Six Sigma, project management frameworks, and engineering problem-solving techniques to address technical challenges.
- Document and communicate findings through technical reviews, design evaluations, and project dashboards.
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts within the engineering and product development functions.
- Build strong working relationships with internal teams and external suppliers, both regionally and globally.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and team members.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree (Level 8) or higher in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic, or Biomedical Engineering (or related discipline).
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant engineering experience, preferably within the medical device industry.
- Proven ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and across organizational boundaries.
- Solid understanding of medical device processes, along with a good grasp of both product and process design principles.
- Strong communication skills, fluent in English, with a proactive and enthusiastic approach to problem-solving and teamwork.
Desirable Attributes
- Experience with automated manufacturing systems or process automation is a plus.
- Familiarity with design control, regulatory standards, and validation protocols in the medical device space.
