Role Overview
An excellent opportunity for an experienced Production Planner to join a dynamic manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining production schedules, coordinating logistics, monitoring performance, and driving process improvements to ensure operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Production Planning and Scheduling
- Develop and maintain detailed production schedules aligned with customer demand, sales forecasts, and manufacturing capacity.
- Analyse customer orders, sales projections, and production capabilities to create accurate plans outlining the sequence and timing of production activities.
- Assess material availability, production requirements, and logistics factors to optimise resource utilisation and ensure timely order fulfilment.
- Coordinate production activities to ensure a smooth flow of materials, efficient resource allocation, and on-time delivery.
- Utilise ERP systems for production planning, labour tracking, inventory management, and logistics coordination, ensuring data accuracy and visibility.
Logistics Coordination
- Coordinate the inbound flow of raw materials and components, working with procurement and suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Plan and manage the outbound logistics of finished goods, including packaging, warehousing, and transportation to meet customer delivery targets.
- Collaborate with warehouse and transport partners to optimise storage, distribution, and shipping efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant shipping, customs, and documentation requirements for both inbound and outbound logistics.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting
- Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), including:
- On-time delivery performance
- Production schedule adherence
- Coordination between production output and customer order fulfilment
- Prepare regular performance reports for senior management, identifying trends and recommending corrective actions where required.
Production Process Optimisation
- Analyse production processes to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for cost reduction or improvement.
- Implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency, reduce lead times, and minimise costs.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to introduce new technologies and lean practices while ensuring compliance with quality standards.
- Maintain a strong commitment to safety standards and adherence to all relevant industry regulations.
Additional Duties
- Undertake any other reasonable tasks and responsibilities assigned in line with business requirements.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
Education and Technical Knowledge
- Strong understanding of industrial or commercial HVAC systems, components, and controls (or similar manufacturing processes).
- Knowledge of refrigeration systems (Air Cooled & Water Cooled) is advantageous.
Skills and Competencies
- Excellent organisational and planning skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities, including technical documentation.
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments to achieve business goals.
Language Requirements
- English: Fluent or intermediate level (required).
