Overview
We are partnering with a leading global manufacturing organisation seeking an expert-level EHS professional to join their team in Macroom. This senior role will provide strategic leadership, technical expertise, and hands-on support to ensure best-in-class environmental, health, and safety performance across the site and wider region.The successful candidate will act as a subject matter expert, driving EHS strategy, ensuring compliance with ISO standards, and promoting a proactive safety culture throughout the organisation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and continually improve the EHS Management System to ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards, ensuring all procedures and documentation remain current and compliant.
  • Develop, coordinate, and deliver EHS training programmes, including induction and job-specific training.
  • Conduct regular EHS inspections and audits to assess system effectiveness and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Prepare and present EHS reports and performance metrics for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lead initiatives on EHS standards, best practices, and emerging technologies, sharing expertise across the business.
  • Oversee the Emergency Response Programme, ensuring readiness, resources, and training are in place for all potential scenarios.
  • Manage the incident investigation process, analyze trends, and lead corrective actions as required.
  • Evaluate EHS impacts of proposed changes to plant, equipment, or processes, ensuring compliance and risk control.
  • Drive risk assessment and reduction programmes across the site.
  • Monitor and interpret EHS legislation, ensuring full compliance with current and future requirements.
  • Manage waste and environmental monitoring programmes in line with licensing conditions.
  • Lead or support EHS projects across the Irish network or within wider divisional initiatives.
  • Partner with site leadership to align on key EHS priorities and strategic goals.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, ownership, and collaboration regarding safety and environmental performance.
  • Manage EHS budgets effectively, identifying opportunities for cost efficiency and service improvement.

Key Requirements
  • Degree-level qualification (minimum NFQ Level 8) in EHS, Engineering, Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 6 years’ experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Proven track record in implementing and maintaining EHS management systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of EHS legislation and regulatory compliance requirements (HSA, EPA, Local Authorities, etc.).
  • Strong ability to interpret regulatory requirements and implement systems that drive continuous improvement.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills across all levels of an organisation.
  • Demonstrated experience leading incident investigations, audits, and risk assessments.
  • Professional EHS accreditation or membership with a recognised industry body is highly desirable.
  • Ongoing professional development in EHS or related disciplines is an advantage.
