Role Objective We are seeking a dynamic Senior Manufacturing Manager to lead and elevate our manufacturing operations. In this key leadership role, you will drive operational excellence, ensure the highest standards of safety and quality, and deliver on ambitious business objectives. You will champion continuous improvement, optimise resources, and empower teams to consistently meet and exceed customer demand. Reporting to the Senior Operations Director, this role is a critical member of the wider site leadership team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and inspire a team of Shift Managers to deliver results aligned with Business Plan commitments.
- Oversee daily manufacturing operations, ensuring production schedules, safety protocols, and quality standards are consistently met.
- Develop and implement strategies to boost efficiency, minimise losses, improve cost performance, and enhance productivity.
- Coach, mentor, and develop manufacturing teams to achieve performance goals and support professional growth.
- Drive team engagement and lead people-focused initiatives across all areas of responsibility.
- Ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements, company policies, and quality and safety standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, EHS, Planning, Operational Excellence, and Supply Chain, on issue resolution, improvement initiatives, projects, and new product launches.
- Manage budgets and resource planning effectively to support operational goals.
- Partner with Engineering to identify, scope, and prepare capital project submissions.
- Champion operational excellence and embed a continuous improvement culture through Lean principles and systems.
- Monitor and analyse KPIs to identify trends, implement corrective/preventive actions, and ensure timely resolution of service or quality issues.
- Support audits and maintain documentation required for regulatory compliance.
- Lead and participate in safety, environmental, and quality initiatives across the site.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong leadership capabilities with proven people management experience.
- Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and problem-solving abilities.
- Demonstrated capability to motivate, coach, and develop teams.
- Strong decision-making and project management skills.
- Proficiency in Lean Manufacturing, TPM, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Solid understanding of quality, environmental, and safety systems and regulatory standards (e.g., ISO, FDA, GMP).
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented, and matrixed work environment.
- Skilled at managing multiple priorities in dynamic conditions.
- Data-driven mindset with strong analytical capabilities.
Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- 8–10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, including at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Experience with TPM or Lean Manufacturing tools; implementation experience preferred.
- Proven track record in leading cross-functional change initiatives; Change Management Certification is a plus.
- Lean Manufacturing certification is advantageous.
- Experience in regulated industries is highly desirable.
- High level of PC literacy and comfort with digital tools.
