As the Senior Engineering Manager, you will combine technical expertise with strategic leadership to ensure world-class manufacturing operations. You will lead cross-functional initiatives, champion continuous improvement, and develop innovative manufacturing solutions that directly impact patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Manufacturing Engineering for assigned areas, ensuring operational excellence, efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
  • Partner with Value Stream and Quality Engineering teams to deliver business objectives, including lean metrics, cycle time, and scrap reduction.
  • Develop a world-class manufacturing organisation skilled in problem-solving using Six Sigma and Lean methodologies.
  • Influence technology selection and drive contract deliverables through Integrated Business Planning (IBP).
  • Oversee departmental budgets, capital investments, and resource planning to maximise ROI and efficiency.
  • Lead cross-functional projects, including Operations Value Improvement Process (VIP) and Strategic Activity Review (STAR) initiatives.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, supporting compliance with BSC’s Quality policy, GMP, E&AS requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Ensure robust training programs and technical skill development for all team members.
  • Maintain strong relationships with R&D and technical leadership across sister sites to drive innovation and knowledge sharing.
  • Lead the specification, acquisition, and validation of capital equipment, balancing technological capabilities with strategic business goals.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (Level 8) in Engineering or related discipline.
  • 8+ years in a leadership role within manufacturing, preferably in medical devices or high-technology environments.
  • Proven ability to influence at all levels and build strategic relationships across functions.
  • Demonstrated track record of driving high-performing, engaged, and diverse teams.
  • Results-oriented with the ability to meet deadlines and deliver measurable business outcomes.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets in alignment with strategic plans.
  • Innovative mindset, ideally with experience in automation and advanced manufacturing technologies.
