Water Treatment Engineer – National Accounts

The Role

On behalf of our client, a leading facilities management and water treatment services provider, we are recruiting a Water Treatment Engineer to support national client accounts across Ireland.

This is a client-facing, technically focused role combining hands-on water treatment services with reporting, compliance support, and technical advisory responsibilities across multiple sites. The successful candidate will work closely with facilities management teams and end clients to ensure water systems operate safely, efficiently, and in full regulatory compliance.

We’re looking for a hands-on Industrial Water Engineer with strong chemical dosing experience to manage and optimise industrial water systems across cooling towers, boilers, and closed-loop systems. This is a senior, client-facing role – a degree alone isn’t enough; practical industrial experience is essential.

What You’ll Do

• Conduct on-site water testing and analyse results (pH, hardness, chlorides, iron, phosphate, etc.)

• Manage chemical dosing programs for scale, corrosion, and microbiological control

• Oversee cooling towers, boilers, and closed-loop systems

• Perform risk assessments (including Legionella) and provide clear, actionable recommendations

• Support system installation, servicing, and maintenance

• Deliver client training and technical guidance

• Contribute to sales support and business development

What We’re Looking For

• 3–7+ years’ hands-on industrial water treatment experience – chemical dosing expertise is essential

• Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication skills – able to explain complex chemistry simply

• Client-focused, organised, and able to work independently

Desirable:

• Experience working within a Facilities Management or multi-site contract environment
• Exposure to industrial, healthcare, or pharmaceutical environments
