Water Treatment Engineer – National Accounts

The Role

On behalf of our client, a leading facilities management and water treatment services provider, we are recruiting a Water Treatment Engineer to support national client accounts across Ireland.

This is a client-facing, technically focused role combining hands-on water treatment services with reporting, compliance support, and technical advisory responsibilities across multiple sites. The successful candidate will work closely with facilities management teams and end clients to ensure water systems operate safely, efficiently, and in full regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the primary technical water treatment contact for assigned facilities management client accounts
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients and site-based FM teams
• Carry out water treatment testing across boiler feed water, closed, and process systems
• Oversee water treatment plant (WTP) operations and SWAS checks
• Analyse test results and provide clear technical reports with improvement recommendations
• Identify risks, non-conformances, and corrective actions, ensuring close-out and follow-up
• Liaise with FM engineering teams on technical issues and system optimisation
• Manage chemical handling, stock control, and ordering
• Ensure environmental compliance and discharge consent adherence

Candidate Profile

Essential:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in water treatment engineering
• Strong background in boiler feed water and closed systems treatment
• Proven experience in a client-facing or account-based role
• Ability to work autonomously across multiple sites nationwide
• Full clean driving licence
• Effective communication, reporting, and problem-solving skills

Desirable:

• Experience working within a Facilities Management or multi-site contract environment
• Exposure to industrial, healthcare, or pharmaceutical environments
