Operations Manager
Are you an execution-focused operations leader with a track record of driving discipline and delivery in a fast-paced manufacturing environment? This is a high-impact role at the heart of a growing automation business, and a genuine opportunity to shape how a scaling site operates.
The Company
A specialist automation and engineering business based in Limerick, serving some of the biggest names in medical device and regulated manufacturing. Part of a global engineering and automation group with over 70 years of expertise and more than 2,300 employees across 40+ locations worldwide, the Limerick site operates as the European hub for engineering, automation assembly, and customer support.
The Role
Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Operations Manager will be the operational backbone of the site, owning project delivery, warehouse, scheduling, ISO compliance, and shipping/receiving across a team of approximately five direct reports including project managers and shop supervisors.
Initially the role will carry a strong project management focus, with a clear and intended progression into a full Operations Manager remit as the site grows. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who leads from the front, enforces process discipline, and gets things done.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead cross-functional project teams across fabrication, assembly, engineering, quality, and supply chain
- Own project delivery end-to-end — managing scope, schedule, cost, and quality across multiple concurrent projects
- Drive operational readiness and production coordination across the shop floor
- Maintain ISO compliance and standardise documentation, filing, and scheduling practices
- Oversee warehouse, scheduling, and shipping/receiving functions
- Manage budgets, track costs, and proactively escalate risks
- Develop and support project managers and shop supervisors within your team
What You'll Bring
- 5–7+ years in manufacturing operations or project management, ideally in automation or equipment manufacturing
- Proven ability to manage complex, cross-functional projects and hold teams accountable
- Strong working knowledge of fabrication, assembly, and manufacturing processes
- Comfortable with ERP systems, MS Office, and project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet)
- Experience with ISO 9001 or similar quality systems
- PMP or equivalent certification an advantage
- Lean/continuous improvement exposure a plus
