Senior Engineering Manager

Location Cork

OBJECTIVES OF POSITION

• Lead and manage a high-perf orming team of Engineers and Technicians within the Engineering Department.
• Develop and strengthen departmental technical capability in line with evolving customer and business needs.
• Build the capability, engagement, and ef f ectiveness of a growing engineering team within a dynamic and expanding organisation.
• Deliver on key operational goals and targets to meet customer expectations and production demand requirements.
• Drive cross-f unctional initiatives f ocused on continuous improvement in quality, delivery, ef f iciency, and cost.
• Act as a key contributor to plant-wide strategic projects and business growth initiatives.
• Lead and support projects, new installations, and the introduction of new technologies and processes.
• Support the plant in delivering customer demand, product expansion, and new product introductions.
• Develop succession planning, training programs, and annual goals f or direct reports to support long - term team growth.
• Champion and support corporate initiatives, f ostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversee Manuf acturing, Test, Automation, and Preventative Maintenance activities as required.
• Deliver on plant perf ormance goals while ensuring customer requirements are consistently achieved.
• Lead and support new product introduction and expansion projects.
• Provide technical and operational customer support where required.
• Set clear direction, priorities, and objectives f or a diverse and evolving engineering team.
• Develop team skills and competencies to ensure the department continues to meet and exceed customer expectations.
• Ensure all new and existing processes comply with relevant industry standards, regulatory requirements, and Health & Saf ety regulations.
• Contribute to a culture of operational excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement across the organisation.

• Assure ongoing compliance with quality standards and industry regulatory requirements.

Health & Safety

• Ensure f ull compliance with Health & Saf ety legislation, policies, and regulations . MEASUREMENTS

• Machine / process uptime and throughput
• Process yield and ef f iciency improvements
• Development and implementation of procedures and processes
• Completion of tasks and projects against agreed objectives and perf ormance targets
• Completion of identif ied training and development programs
• Training and succession plans in place f or team development and f uture growth

PERSONNEL SPECIFICATIONS

Qualifications and Experience

• Degree in Engineering (Level 8) or higher.
• Strong management and leadership capabilities with the ability to inspire and develop teams.
• Minimum of 8 years’ experience in a similar role within a medium/high-volume multinational manuf acturing environment.

• Experience within the medical devices industry is desirable.
