Location: Clare, Ireland (with travel up to 25% to other European sites)

We are seeking an experienced Staff Project Engineer to lead and deliver high-value equipment engineering projects across our European manufacturing sites. This is a key role within the Engineering team and will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Operations and Program Management. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage large-scale equipment and upgrade projects, working closely with third-party vendors throughout the full equipment lifecycle—from design through to installation and validation.
  • Provide technical support and leadership on manufacturing equipment issues and improvements, collaborating with both internal teams and external partners.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, owning related engineering projects and ensuring that relevant documentation and compliance requirements are met.
  • Act as the key technical liaison between equipment suppliers and internal stakeholders during new equipment development and commissioning.
  • Apply structured problem-solving methodologies to troubleshoot equipment, process, and product issues, working in cross-functional teams.
  • Use visual project management tools and daily management systems to standardize work practices and identify areas for improvement.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively on equipment and process challenges, focusing on root cause, corrective actions, and project updates.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree (Level 8 or equivalent) in Engineering or a related discipline with 9+ years of relevant industrial experience OR a Master’s degree with 7+ years, OR a PhD with 4+ years of experience.
  • Strong experience in equipment engineering, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated success managing technical projects and collaborating with diverse teams.
  • Prior experience in an engineering role with a strong project focus.
  • Exposure to Lean and Continuous Improvement methodologies (e.g., Kaizen, PSP, DIVE, DMAIC).
  • Experience working in cross-functional, multicultural teams.
  • Familiarity with regulated environments (e.g., medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or similar) is an advantage.
