Project Engineer
The Project Engineer is responsible for the safe coordination and execution of projects related to new product introductions, process improvements, automation, aseptic processing, and new processing equipment - along with associated facility and utilities modifications. The primary focus is to ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to agreed quality standards. The Project Engineer reports to the Senior Manager of Aseptic Engineering, receiving guidance and support to meet technical and project goals.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
People & Project Leadership:
- Lead cross-functional project teams to deliver processing equipment to site per timelines and scope.
- Write User Requirement Specifications (URS).
- Select and evaluate vendors; complete vendor evaluation matrices.
- Manage project lifecycle: write capital requests (RCEs), place orders, lead project meetings, and participate in design reviews.
- Work to ASME BPE 2019 standards and relevant ISPE guidelines.
- Oversee installation and utility hook-up of processing equipment in collaboration with vendors and internal engineering staff.
- Lead Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) efforts.
- Ensure all equipment documentation is compiled and maintained.
- Support commissioning and assist in qualification activities.
- Coordinate operator training, O&M manuals, spare parts, and preventive maintenance (PM) schedules.
Product & Process Improvement:
- Collaborate in problem-solving forums focused on product manufacturing and aseptic filling.
- Lead and contribute to process improvement and cost-reduction initiatives.
Project & Team Communication:
- Organize and lead regular project review meetings (weekly/bi-weekly).
- Attend Tier 1 meetings with the reporting manager.
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Engineering or related discipline.
- 4+ years of experience in the biologics, pharmaceutical, or medical device industry.
- Demonstrated project engineering & management experience.
- Technically confident self-starter with strong initiative.
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally in team-based environments.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to organise, plan, and allocate resources efficiently.
- Sound decision-making capabilities in team environments.
- Flexibility to adapt in dynamic, fast-paced conditions.
