Facilities Manager
Location: Shannon, Co. Clare
Schedule: Full-time, weekdays
We are hiring for an experienced Facilities Manager to oversee building services and utilities at a large industrial site in Co. Clare. This is a senior, client-facing role focused on operational oversight rather than hands-on maintenance. The successful candidate will manage facility performance, coordinate external contractors, and ensure all building and utility systems run safely, efficiently, and compliantly.

Role Overview

• Lead all aspects of building infrastructure and utilities management.
• Maintain oversight of electrical and mechanical building systems, transformers, grounds, and general site services.
• Review contractor reports, interpret findings, plan corrective actions, and provide clear recommendations to the client.
• Act as the primary point of contact for the client with consistent communication, updates, and visibility.
• Manage a team of six facilities staff (electrical, mechanical, general support).
• Work alongside a Facilities Coordinator who manages day-to-day contractor activities.
• Prioritise contract management and operational leadership over hands-on technical work.

• Strong background in electrical or mechanical building services (qualification preferred).
• Proven track record as an operational Facilities Manager in a busy environment.
• Excellent communication skills: responsive, reliable, and confident dealing with clients.
• Experience reviewing technical reports, coordinating external vendors, and planning maintenance works.
• Ability to lead a small on-site team and ensure high standards of service delivery.

• Someone proactive, accountable, and visible on site.
• A manager who can step back from tools and focus on leadership, communication, and contract delivery.
• A professional who ensures issues are identified early, communicated clearly, and acted on promptly.
