Engineering Technician
ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN
Responsibilities
Work as a team member to support engineering in pharma operations in line with all safety, regulatory, and organizational requirements.
Participate in design and process project discussions to ensure reliability by design is integrated prior to equipment arrival.
Own and prepare preventative and predictive maintenance plans for new pharmaceutical equipment; approve procedures in Maximo.
Complete and document PMs and pDMs for manufacturing equipment in Maximo.
Ensure commissioning spare parts are received and cataloged in Maximo.
Identify, receive, and catalog critical spare parts in Maximo.
Actively participate in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), and the commissioning and qualification of equipment.
Review and approve process-related commissioning, qualification, and validation protocols for completeness and accuracy; execute protocols in line with project schedules.
Review and approve process flow diagrams (PFDs), specifications, layouts, and P&IDs.
Ensure high performance in day-to-day preventative and demand maintenance activities for manufacturing and utility equipment.
Liaise with operations, quality, and technical teams to maximize equipment and process performance.
Maintain records and documentation according to Engineering Procedures and maintenance requirements.
Collaborate with internal/external engineering personnel and contract maintenance providers for troubleshooting, installation, and commissioning of equipment.
Complete instrument calibrations as per schedule.
Take ownership of the site’s Predictive Maintenance program, including managing and developing outsourced condition monitoring contracts, implementing recommendations, and tracking closure.
Implement equipment/process upgrades in a culture of continuous improvement.
Support production teams in maintaining equipment to meet output and yield targets.
Adhere to all quality and safety policies.
Support successful external inspections and internal audits.
Supervise external contractors as required.
Requirements
Education & Qualifications
Relevant Trade Qualification or Engineering Certificate (minimum requirement).
Diploma or Degree in Engineering (preferred).
Technical/Business Knowledge
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a highly regulated manufacturing environment (Pharma/Biologics/Medical Device).
Proven ability to troubleshoot complex equipment.
Strong experience with instrumentation and PLC troubleshooting.
