Job Summary

Provide technical support and program management for manufacturing operations and new product introductions (NPIs). Deliver technical leadership and oversight of all control system activities within the manufacturing facilities.


Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for all control system–related issues, including daily troubleshooting, optimisation, and documentation control.

  • Lead control system qualification activities during project start-up.

  • Manage the life cycle of onsite control systems in accordance with GAMP-5 requirements.

  • Project-manage control system elements of continuous improvement initiatives, collaborating with process engineers, technical support chemists, and other departments.

  • Manage and support technical development for future integrations of control systems with planned MES and ERP systems.

  • Adhere to and support all EHS & E standards, procedures, and policies.

  • Prepare proposals for long-term plans for control system maintenance and improvement.


Requirements

Education

  • B.Sc or B.Eng degree or a Postgraduate Diploma in a relevant technical discipline (Master’s desirable).

Technical / Business Knowledge & Skills

  • 3+ years’ experience in process automation, preferably involving vendor-packaged equipment within a GMP pharmaceutical environment.

  • 3 years’ experience with 21 CFR Part 11 and EU Annex 11 requirements for automated systems.

  • 3+ years’ experience with plant start-ups and/or NPIs in GMP facilities, with the ability to lead these activities in a start-up setting.

  • Strong experience configuring and troubleshooting complex equipment control systems, including PLCs and SCADA/HMI applications.

  • Knowledge and experience with industrial control system networks such as Profinet, Profibus, Modbus, or CANBus.

  • Knowledge of Ethernet-based networks and network architecture models.

  • Experience interfacing systems with plant historians (e.g., Ignition, OSI-PI) using OPC interfaces.

  • Knowledge of control system life cycle management, including backup, recovery, user access control, configuration management, and change management.

  • Experience with Windows operating system administration.
