Overview

Our client is seeking a Warehouse Shipping Controller to support warehouse and shipping operations within a busy manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating shipping activities, managing transport requirements, ensuring compliance with quality standards, and supporting inventory and logistics processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the day-to-day warehouse shipping function, including collections, deliveries, and storage management across internal and external warehouse locations.
  • Manage transport requirements for shipments and collections in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Prepare and maintain weekly shipping schedules and coordinate with external sterilization and logistics partners.
  • Monitor and coordinate pre-sterile and post-sterile product shipments.
  • Review sales and capital orders within ERP systems and coordinate shipment planning with internal departments.
  • Manage picking and shipment of spare parts orders.
  • Ensure all shipments are packaged, handled, and transported appropriately to prevent damage or deterioration.
  • Complete inventory transactions accurately within inventory control systems.
  • Ensure all shipping documentation is accurate, compliant, and aligned with customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain compliance with dangerous goods shipping legislation and associated training requirements.
  • Ensure documentation and filing systems meet GDP and audit trail requirements.
  • Maintain shipping and consolidation reports.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Finance, Trade Compliance, and other departments to support shipping, invoicing, customs, and export documentation processes.
  • Provide training and support to warehouse operatives where required.
  • Ensure adherence to GMP, GDP, EHS, ISO, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Support continuous improvement and compliance initiatives across the warehouse and shipping function.
  • Handle customer and internal stakeholder queries relating to shipments, transport services, and logistics processes.

Requirements

Education

  • Secondary level education or equivalent experience in a similar environment.
  • Logistics qualification or related training is advantageous.

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a high-volume warehouse or logistics environment.
  • Experience in shipping, customs, imports/exports, or dangerous goods legislation is advantageous.
  • Previous experience within a manufacturing warehouse environment is beneficial.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work across multiple departments.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Good working knowledge of inventory control and material flow processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Experience using Oracle or similar ERP systems is advantageous.
  • Experience operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts, reach trucks, or pallet trucks is beneficial (training can be provided).
